Empty flight for Air Zim

No passengers?

The Daily News has reported that Air Zimbabwe has broken another aviation record, after flying an empty aircraft from Joburg to Harare on Monday.
The beleaguered airline had only just resumed regional flights, after cancelling them in January because of their debt crisis.

The Boeing 767-200 has a carrying capacity of 203 passengers. There were 9 flight crew on board.

Air Zim did have 5 passengers on the flight to Johannesburg. It was on the return journey that it was completely empty.
The Daily News noted that in 2005 Air Zim had flown from Dubai to Harare, with one passenger.

The problem is all down to chronically bad management and massive interference by the government.

Air Zimbabwe like any national asset has been privatised and looted to he bone (only metal are left for the Zimbabwean nation). Can it really be expected to perform like a normal national asset?
