ANC youth vow to support ZANU PF election campaign

The youth wing of South Africa’s ANC party has vowed to support ZANU PF in its bid to win this year’s election, after an appeal by the ZANU PF youth league.

The comments were made on the sidelines of a gathering of African liberation movements who are meeting in South Africa this weekend. The event is hosted by the ruling ANC and features ZANU PF, Namibia’s SWAPO and others. Robert Mugabe travelled to that meeting on Thursday.

Addressing youth league leaders there, ZANU PF National Secretary for Youth Affairs, Absalom Sikhosana, urged his counterparts from the different parties to help Mugabe win the forthcoming elections. Sikhosana called the coming election “a do or die” for his party, saying the party had to win it at all costs. He said a ZANU PF win would silence the party’s critics who say that it does not have enough support to beat the MDC-T at the polls.

ANC Youth League President Ronald Lamola, then stated that ZANU PF will get all the support they need from the ANC youth to secure victory in the coming poll.

Promise Mkwananzi, the Secretary General of the MDC-T Youth Assembly, said the support by the ANC Youth League for ZANU PF goes against everything legitimate liberation parties stand for.

“They are supporting a party that has gone against the same reasons why the liberation struggle was started. Liberation has been bastardised by ZANU PF,” Mkwananzi said.

He added that the ANC youth should be urged to take a neutral stance in Zimbabwe, because the main wing of the party under Jacob Zuma is playing a mediation role across the border.

“As we speak Zuma is walking a thin line to unlock the crisis facing Zimbabweans. This facilitation role the ANC is playing means the youth league should remain neutral,” Mkwananzi said.

“As we speak Zuma is walking a thin line to unlock the crisis facing Zimbabweans. This facilitation role the ANC is playing means the youth league should remain neutral,” Mkwananzi said. It is what I term as tosh or foolish nonsense as the youth wing of the the South Africa’s ANC party only expressed its solidarity with the youth wing of ZANU PF and to wish them well during the forthcoming elections. This is the practice for all liberation movements. They all feel for each other and has nothing to do with Zuma, who was not even closer to the venue where this message of solidarity was delivered by Ronald Lamola, the ANC Youth League President. In any case, Zuma has no constitutional right to silence the ANC Youth League as it is its democratic right to side with any liberation movement they desire.

Chimbwido Warvet, you are not the Law or the Lawgiver. Should you continue antics, this society will commit you to a mental institution soon. The article clearly says that the “ANC Youth League Presdent Ronald Lamola then stated that Zanu will get all the support they need from the ANC youth to secure victory in the coming poll”

Three things are clearly splelt out in the above statement. (i) The League of which Ronald Lamola, is President, is part of and belongs to the ANC. (ii) Zanu will get “all” the support it needs from the Youth League, morally and physically in order to secure victory in the elections. (iii) The “support” is from the youth section of the ANC organisation of which Zuma is the President and facilitator/moderator in the Zimbabwean talks between/among Parties to the GPA document

Misinterpreting the statement is because one wants to be seen clever, is a troublemaker or is trying to hide his/her true intentions. It is known that Chimwido Warvet is fake, a liar and a mercenary who dances to the highest bidder, therefore, misinterpreting Ronald Lamola straight statement means he wants to be seen in a different light than the one that projects his cause.
