Death of a human rights activist: Dr Solomon Nkiwane

It is with deep regret that I inform you all about the death of Dr. Solomon Nkiwane today.
Dr Nkiwane was one of the most committed cadres in the struggle against Mugabe. He taught in Colorado, USA, but moved last year to South Africa to teach at Rhodes University.
He helped organize a symposium in Colorado. He also appeared on radio interviews where he gave an insightful analysis of the situation in Zimbabwe.

Dr. Nkiwane once told me he was determined to fight on until Mugabe was gone and Zimbabwe liberated from the oppressive rule of ZANUPF. Dr. Nkiwane barely fulfilled his dream when Mugabe and ZANUPF were defeated 10 days ago. Dr. Nkiwane was our Moses. He led us in the struggle against Mugabe, but left us just as we caught a glimpse ahead of us of the land of Zimbabwe without Mugabe or ZANUPF.
Thank you Dr. Nkiwane for your relentless struggle for human rights in Zimbabwe.

I have no hesitation in saying that our liberation movement has lost one of its greatest fighters.
