Mugabe linked to the forced evictions

A Harare based construction company with direct links to Robert Mugabe is being used to transport evicted families from Porta farm to Caledonia outside Harare.

Power Release Investment, a company involved in the construction of Robert Mugabe's mansion in Borrowdale Brooke has been using its lorries to ferry displaced families from Harare to a holding camp in Caledonia.

The stunning revelations confirm suggestions within the ruling party and government that most of its officials were against the demolitions and forced evictions except Robert Mugabe and his henchmen.

Our Harare correspondent, Simon Muchemwa said the Zanu (PF) leader must be reeling in shame following the exposure of his direct link with the forced transportation of thousands of people, made homeless by his senseless clean-up operation.

Muchemwa was able to track down the trucks from Power Release Investment all the way to Mugabe's mansion in Borrowdale Brooke. The company owns trucks, earthmovers and bulldozers and there is now suspicion that most of the bulldozers used in the operation belong to them.
