‘Zimbabwean workers turned to beggars’ says Siwela

Outspoken Zapu leader Paul Siwela has observed that the prevailing dire economic situation in the country has forced the majority of workers to go through a very pathetic situation of survival.

‘Every worker in the country is going through an extremely difficult period, including those from the sensitive areas like the Central Intelligence Organisation, police and army.

He said quite a number of civil servants have approached them on a number of occasions complaining about their economic plight.

‘Most of these people earn a meagre Z$2 -5 million every month and if you calculate the money they spend on rent, food and transport, they remain with nothing,’ he said.

Therefore, to rectify that, we must all come together to realise that unless we all stand up and be counted and say yes this country can still survive after Robert Mugabe has gone, I would say yes this country will have a better future without Mugabe and his Zanu (PF),’ said Siwela.
