Arnold Tsunga, the Chairperson for Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, has won the prestigious Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Defenders Award.
Tsunga was jointly announced the winner, together with a fellow human rights lawyer Mandira Sharma from Nepal.
The two human rights defenders will be honoured at the 2007 Human Rights Watch annual dinners taking place in London, Munich, Hamburg, and Geneva.
Tsunga, also heads the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, and has been honoured because of his courage in standing for the oppressed, against the violent and oppressive state machinery.
