In-form Zimbabwe internationals, Esrom Nyandoro and Onismor Bhasera, are headed for a trial stint at an unnamed English First Division club, their agent has said.
According to press reports, the two Zimbabwean players who are making serious waves in the South African Premiership with defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Telkom Knockout winners Kaizer Chiefs respectively, look set to secure dream moves abroad.
The players’ manager, Ryan Hartslief, disclosed that both Nyandoro and Chiefs left fullback Onismor Bhasera, had indicated that they were ready to quit South Africa and they wanted to pursue their careers abroad. The two only recently joined Hartslief’s stable, which has facilitated moves of many South African players to European clubs. These include South Africa’s first choice goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez who is now with German Bundesliga side Armina Bielefeld and Zambian midfielder Isaac Chansa was secured a move to Helsingborg in Denmark.
At the end of the 2005/2006 season, Nyandoro was invited for trials at compatriot Peter Ndlovu’s former club Sheffield United where he was considered successful enough to be offered a contract. Sundowns however needed him desperately and Nyandoro’s dream move was scuppered. Bhasera on the other hand, was only last year turning out for unfashionable Maritzburg United, which was relegated at the end of the season before Chiefs snatched him.
Elsewhere in Europe, Zimbabwe international Honour Gombami is receiving rave reviews in the Belgian Premiership after taking his goal tally to seven. At the weekend, Gombami struck the second goal in Cercle Brugge’s 3-0 home win over Moeskoeren to maintain third place in the Jupiler League.
In Poland, former Hwange hitman Takesure Chinyama finally put on his scoring boots leading Legia Warsaw to a crucial win in the Polish First Division. Chinyama, featuring for Legia alongside Warriors centre half Dickson Choto, found the target in the fourth minute.
In France, Harlington Shereni enjoyed a memorable weekend as his Ligue 2 side Nantes shot to the top of the log with a 3-1 win over Amiens, dislodging Le Havre on Friday. Nantes opened a three-point lead, although the former leaders have a game in hand.
