Police have intensified their blitz on the low density suburbs of Hatfield, Braeside, Queensdale and Waterfalls. They spent the greater part of Tuesday issuing instructions for properties to be destroyed and on Wednesday they were re-visiting those homesteads to make sure their orders had been carried out. Further reports suggest some police patrols went into the Masasa Park suburb near Hatfield. The state media glorified in the discovery of 3 cattle at one home in Waterfalls. A 77 year old widow said the beasts were her only form of livelihood as she sold the manure from them. It was not clear what will happen to the cattle.

Meanwhile government is going all out to block the flow of information and pictures on operation 'murambatsvina'. On Tuesday Eunice Mafundikwa, an aid worker with Action AID, was detained by police for seven hours after taking photographs at a camp outside Harare. She took pictures of another aid group distributing sanitary wear to a group of women at the camp. Conditions at holding camps like Caledonia have come under attack for having no running water, adequate toilets and people sleeping out in the open.
