A Zimbabwe teenager based in the UK will this month be travelling to China for the Elite Model Look World finals, after being announced the winner of the UK leg of the competition.
15 year-old Nyasha Matonhodze from Northampton was selected the winner out of ten rivals in the UK in August. She now goes on to China for the international finals being held in Beijing next weekend, where she’ll be representing the UK and Zimbabwe.
“Where I’ve come from, this just a dream for me. The idea of going to China is just out of this world.” Nyasha said shortly after being announced the winner of the UK leg of the competition.
Judges said Nyasha stood out because she ‘has the presence and walk of a top catwalk model.’
The Elite Model Look World competition is in its 26th year, offering aspiring models from across the world a chance at international stardom. Elite Models as an agency meanwhile has launched the careers of supermodels Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Gisele Bundchen to name just three. Nyasha, who has been likened to a young Naomi Campbell, has already been signed to the star-studded agency.
