Mugabe visits Avenues Clinic

The 22 tortured and brutalised opposition supporters being treated at Avenues Clinic were surprised Wednesday when sirens indicated that Mugabe had arrived. But he wasn’t there to visit them. He’d popped in to see his sister Sabina who is being treated for an unknown illness. Sabina is right next door to Grace Kwinje who is being treated for various injuries including an almost severed ear, suffered in the brutal attacks.

Mugabe had to walk past Tendai Biti’s ward but he was screened from seeing any of the ugliness of his extreme brutality by the huge security detail that accompanied him. Chitungwiza MP Fidelis Mhashu had come to visit Tsvangirai and his injured officials and said of Mugabe; "He must be embarrassed. How can he come here and ignore the victims of his police force’s brutality. This man is inhuman."
As Mugabe left criticism and heckling could be heard coming from the many opposition supporters who had gathered at the clinic to visit the victims of this latest crackdown.
