There was tight security in Harare today as all roads leading into and out of Harare were manned by police roadblocks. The police conducted body searches on people on buses, private cars, motorbikes and even bicycles. Our correspondent Simon Muchemwa say there was no explanation although it looked like the security officers were looking for weapons because of the way they were searching. Its reported that passengers and drivers were asked for proper IDs and those who didn't have them were made to pay fines of $25 000. Simon Muchemwa many people were angry saying there was no activity in Harare to warrant this operation.
