A worker at the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) headquarters has confirmed reports that ZANU-PF thugs are intimidating management and staff suspected to be opposition sympathisers. The thugs call themselves war veterans and are allegedly led by Gibson Siziba, a maintenance auditor at the Mechanical workshops.

Siziba is said to be engaged in a campaign to replace the management and staff at the Bulawayo headquarters with people that have war credentials. Our source confirmed reports that the thugs are very rough and have assaulted and even tortured individuals.

There has been no police involvement in this case because the perpetrators are operating with the blessing of the Minister of Transport and Communications Chris Mushowe. Our source said they act like “demi-Gods” because of this support from a government official.

The so-called war veterans say they are dealing with workers suspected of involvement in corrupt practices, but some victims say the whole thing is political. Our source said they accused suspected individuals of pro-opposition and unable to implement the government’s turnaround plan.
