Farmer and support group chairman Gerry Whitehead reports that it has been a bad week for the few remaining Chiredzi farmers and commercial business people. Whitehead’s company Whitro Engineering was raided Wednesday despite his lawyer explaining that they have applied for an interdict. Led by assistant police commissioner Mrs Ndanga, a group of armed soldiers, police and so-called war veterans are stealing from farmers in the lowveld hiding under the banner of The Farm Materials Equipment Committee.

On Thursday, Whitehead reported that Ndanga and her thugs have now raided Supreme Motors and another unnamed commercial enterprise in Chiredzi. Not happy with this, they also raided Fantasia Farms and took irrigation equipment, including a Center Pivot worth billions of dollars.
It’s estimated that the equipment that has been taken in the Chiredzi area now exceeds 50 billion dollars.
