Iran and Zimbabwe

Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Hamid Moayer and Zimbabwe's Foreign Minister Mubengegwei Simbarashe met Thursday to discuss matters of ‘bilateral concern.’
This on the same day that an international news storm erupted over Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calling for Israel to be ‘wiped off the map.’ Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has now asked the United Nations to expel Iran.
But Zimbabwe and Iran continue their cooperation and the foreign ministers of the two countries will jointly preside over a commission, which is to hold talks about cooperating in defense, information and publicity and telecommunications, which doesn’t bode well for anyone hoping there will be a halt to human rights abuses and freedom for the media anytime soon.
Mubengegwi said he appreciated Iran's contribution to the country's various economic projects, calling for closer collaboration, particularly in extraction and exploitation of mines in Zimbabwe.
Brace yourself Zimbabwe. More plunder coming your way.
