MASHONALAND WEST
Hurungwe East
Reports claim that at least 56 voters have been turned away. The authorities claim that some were aliens and the others failed to find their names on the voter’s roll.
It is also reported that the following polling stations ran out of ballot paper; Garikai ran out of all ballot papers, whilst Dixie Farm Chipapa and Tavoyi Farm ran out of Presidential, Senatorial and House of Assembly papers.
Chegutu
7 people were turned 3 of whom were allegedly classified as aliens, though they voted in the 2005 Parliamentary elections.
Kadoma
In Muzvezve, Mhondoro Ngezi and Mubayira, the electorate experienced interrogation from the Zimbabwe Republic Police. In these rural areas the police are reportedly standing at the gate asking for the names of the voters writing it in a book.
There are also unidentified people standing at the Sable Ranch Primary School. These people are telling the electorate that it is a requirement for the electorate to pass through them and register their names.
Matebeleland
Nkayi: At Mathendele Polling Station, ZESN observers were ordered to stay outside the polling station by the presiding officer.
Plumtree Polling Station
The polling station opened at 0800 an hour late.
Victoria Falls:
Aerodrome polling station in Ward 3 ran out of ballot paper at 1030am. The residents were promised that the ballot paper would be flown in from Hwange. However, by the time of going to press, the ballot paper had not yet been delivered hence about 30 people went away in disappointment.
MASVINGO
There are reports that by 1000am today, about 2000 people had been turned away throughout the Masvingo province mainly because their names were missing from the voters roll and they did not have relevant documents.
Chiredzi: Two polling stations in Chiredzi ran out of Ballot paper. At the SDA primary, they ran out at 12, whilst at Poly Clinic they ran out at 1430 hours. More information is still coming in.
HARARE
At Mandara shops polling station, ZESN observers were not allowed into the polling station. Voters felt intimidated by the presence of a policeman who was sitting too close to the ballot boxes.
Chisipite Senior School polling station: a councilor’s ballot paper did not have pictures of candidates hence voters got confused.
BINGA
Ndamisanga polling station ran out of ballot paper at about 1100 hours up until the time of going to press.
