Burning down the house

Zanu PF militia are targeting rural homes, burning people out of their houses and chasing them away so that they are forced to seek refuge outside their ward in which they are registered. The plan is the prevent them from voting in any presidential run-off.

In addition we are also receiving reports that Zanu PF supporters are confiscating national identity cards of people perceived to be MDC activists in an attempt to prevent these people from voting in the runoff in the presidential election.

At least 33 families at Vine Farm in Mutorangashanga, Mashonaland West, were evicted from their homes on Monday 5 May after being accused of voting for the MDC. During the evictions everyone above the age of 18 years had his or her identity document confiscated by the Zanu PF militia.

There are a large number of pictures of violence coming into the radio station on a daily basis many of these are so horrifying they are unsuitable to be shown on the web site.

Those who feel strongly about the violence now being visited on defenseless Zimbabweans can get involved in a variety of campaigns.
We are compiling lists of perpetrators and their telephone numbers. We want Zimbabweans to spending a little time calling these perpetrators and let them know that they are being watched and that they will be held accountable for their crimes.
