Press Conference Invitation
VOTE WISELY ON 29/03/2008
Zimbabwe, the countdown has begun. In few days time, three to be precise, the nation heads down to the polling booths. This is a landmark election that sees the electorate voting for candidates of their different choice; it is also a first that sees the current President on the edge and verge of his name being written on the political epitaph of Zimbabwean politics. His retirement from politics has been sounded by the timely arrival of the Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn Project, a tsunami envisioned by Dr Simba Makoni.
This is an opportunity, Zimbabwe, of getting rid of dictatorship and bringing in a leader with vision, vision for the people and economy of Zimbabwe and indeed the vision that our forefathers and Liberation heroes dreamt of, a free Zimbabwe. The late fathers of Zimbabwe, Josiah Magama Tongogara, Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo and Dr Herbert Chitepo had all wanted to see and what the late heroes and heroines of Zimbabwe died for.
Well call upon you all Zimbabweans not to betray the love shown by all of these and many more gallant fighters for our freedom. We implore you not only to put an ‘X’ on the ballot paper against the name of your individual choice but to ask your conscience while in that booth whether your choice will make a difference in resolving the morass our country is engulfed in. We ask you to see through the rhetoric preached by some of the candidates; we ask you to probe your conscience. Makoni will fight corruption, restore peace and security, resuscitate the economy and fight nepotism, which some candidates have promoted. Simba Makoni has got all the qualities, experience, credibility as well as the ability to unite Zimbabweans from all walks of life. Dr Makoni said these important words, “No one is worth killing for…”These words symbolise Dr Makoni as a uniting force and a man of peace, desperately needed in Zimbabwe.
Dr Makoni has recounted how he suffered together with the people resigned to unending queues to withdraw cash from banks, to buy the basic necessities that we used to take for granted in the Zimbabwe of yester year. This is a man who wields the desire to advance the democratic principles that have been taken away from the people. His policies oozes love, togetherness and bring Zimbabwe back to her glory days. His speeches know no hate and name calling; he has heard and ignored hate speeches and name calling from other presidential aspirants. Here is a man who fears God and indeed who shows this by the respect he accords his family.
Dr Makoni is the only one with a specific policy for the Diaspora and has promised to give security of tenure to the resettled farmers. However, your ‘X’ is your voice; vote Simba Makoni for President.
Imali yisweli simba, lamagetsi lawo asweli simba; amanzi asweli simba, le economy eseswili simba; iparliament layo haisela simba, abantu sebesweli simba. Vote Simba for simba!
Mari haisisina simba, magetsi haasisina simba; mvura haisisina simba, economy yashaya simba; parliament haisisina simba navanhu vashaya simba. Vote Simba for simba!
Simba kuvanhu/ uSimba ebantwini/ Simba to the people! Simba nderedu maZimbabwe!
