The MDC Youth Assembly is deeply saddened by the death of a great gospel musician of our nation. Cephas “Moto muzhinji” Mashakada a well talented sungura artist, was born 51 years ago. He died yesterday at Chitungwiza hospital. Mashakada was battling with diabetes for some years.
The leader of the Sounds of Muddy face, started his career as a youth, four decades ago.
As young people of Zimbabwe, at this time of sorrow, we would like to extend our sincere heartfelt sympathy to amai, the Mashakada family, friends, relatives and the rest of the nation, hoping they will find comfort in their memories and strength from those who share their sorrow.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with them, and they will overcome this moment of grief. We do share their grief, the unimaginable pain, but that cannot be undone. It is God's work. Nevertheless, as per the will of God Almighty, on the appointed hour.
We pray to God Almighty to bestow them with a choicest dwelling in the heaven and grant patience and courage to their family to sustain these great losses.
The MDCYA Chitungwiza province chairperson, Mashoko Matonhodze, is encouraging all the young people in Chitungwiza province to come in their numbers to pay their last respect to the great artist.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
