Following Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s visit and engagement with international investors in Chicago, USA, a delegation from Luster Products, a leading American Health Care producer, is in the country to explore investment opportunities.
The Luster Products delegation paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at his Strathaven home in Harare, Tuesday where they discussed more on Zimbabwe’s investment climate.
Prime Minister Tsvangirai toured Luster Products when he visited Chicago in September 2011, in one of his investment initiatives.
Luster Products, Inc. is the leading African-American owned and operated manufacturer of premium personal care products supplied worldwide. It realizes a turnover of more than $400 million annually.
The company also has branch offices in London and South Africa.
During the visit, the Premier also met other renowned businesspersons, including Jim Reynolds and toured plane manufacturers, Boeing.
It was during these meetings that the business people promised the Premier that they would reciprocate his visit and explore more opportunities in Zimbabwe.
Luster Products’ interest in the local market will galvanise industry that has been struggling following challenges in liquidity and lack of recapitalisation. It creates potential for significant job creation in Zimbabwe.
