Richard looks at the historical significance of the retaking of the Anglican property by Bishop Chad Gandiya, the rightful bishop of Harare. It seems that even within the higher ranks of ZANU PF Kunonga’s immoral behavior was becoming an embarrassment and his rhetoric against homosexuals was failing to raise sympathy. When far larger numbers of worshippers, who would be potential voters, were seen to be supporting Bishop Gandiya, ZANU PF decided to remove their support for Kunonga.
